About Me

Welcome to San Juan Soapery and thank you for taking the time to check out what I have to offer! My name is Savannah! I am the owner, maker, and mastermind behind San Juan Soapery. I currently live in the heart of San Juan Island with my amazing wife and our two incredible furbabies!

Originally, I am from a small town in south Texas and moved to Seattle after graduating high school to attend the deaf studies program at SCCC. After completing the program, I became a sign language interpreter. I was an ASL Interpreter for several years before becoming an early childhood educator. I worked in ECD for over 10 years and absolutely loved my job.

My soap making journey started in the height of Covid. I guess it’s the one thing I can thank Covid for. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to teach and was desperately needing something to fill my time. I also wanted to find a way to offer some form of stress relief to myself as well as my family and friends during such a trying time. One day I just so happened to stumble across the world of soap. I have always had a passion for art, as well as natural, healthy skincare. What better way to combine the two?!?

What I thought would be just a hobby, quickly turned into a passion that I have dedicated all of my time and energy towards.

Not long after starting my soap making journey my wife and I uprooted our lives in Seattle and made the move to San Juan Island and we couldn’t be happier that we did!

I started off by making melt and pour soaps, basic salt scrubs, and bath bombs. Needless to say, my products and I have come a very long way over the years. I now offer a variety of products from Cold process Soaps to Silky Hand & Body Lotions, and everything in between.

Over the past 3 years I have worked tirelessly. I have spent endless hours researching, formulating, testing, and re-formulating my recipes to ensure that I am offering the best products possible. All of my products are both sustainable and eco-friendly (all the way down to the packaging!) Each and every product is uniquely handcrafted by me in small batches using top quality, vegan, natural, skin loving, locally sourced ingredients. All of which are Paraben-Free, Sulfate-Free, Cruelty-Free and Ethically Sourced.
